2025 Porsche Boxster Electric Changes

The Porsche Boxster has always been a fan-favorite among sports car fans thanks to its classic good looks and enjoyable convertible top. Porsche is preparing to release the next generation of the 718 Boxster as an all-electric vehicle, reflecting the industry’s shift toward a greener future. In 2025, the Porsche Boxster Electric will go on sale in the United States at a starting price of less than $80,000.

At their 2022 annual conference, Porsche revealed plans to produce electrified versions of the Boxster and Cayman beginning in 2025. The electric roadster will have a four-dot LED daytime running light characteristic, similar to the Taycan. The back is still a mystery, although it should look like a Boxster.

Porsche’s custom-designed platform for the 2025 Boxster EV will feature modules from other vehicles, including the Taycan’s J1 platform and the Macan Electric’s PPE platform. Both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions of the electric Boxster will be offered. The gas-powered 394-horsepower Boxster GTS 4.0 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and has a peak speed of 182 mph; the electric Boxster is expected to outperform this model. The EPA estimates a single charge will get a customer between 250 and 300 miles of travel.

Porsche’s e-mobility plan calls for the delivery of exclusively electric vehicles by the year 2030. This includes the Cayenne, Panamera, Macan, and 718 series, all of which will be available in all-electric form shortly. If the electric Boxster is a commercial success, it might have a major impact on the future of the electric sports car sector.
